Here at The Summit School, we are incredibly proud to have Chris Unold as our Food Service Director. Chris is a man who is deeply committed to his work and the students he serves. When asked about the meaning in his work, Chris responds with genuine enthusiasm, expressing how much joy he feels when he sees his students progress and thrive.
What sets Chris apart, however, is the personal story he shares that gives him a unique perspective as someone who cares for these children. Chris talks about his own son, who was in a special education program and struggled to socialize and connect with others. He describes how he and his family worked hard to help their son, and how they eventually found a community that supported and nurtured him.
Through this experience, Chris gained a deep appreciation for the importance of dedicated, caring individuals who work with children with special needs. His own journey informs his work at The Summit School, where he is able to connect with the children and help them progress in meaningful ways.
Watching Chris speak about his work and his personal story is truly heartwarming. It’s clear that he brings a unique perspective and level of compassion to his job, and that he is making a real difference in the lives of those he cares for. Overall, Chris is a shining example of the power of kindness, compassion, and dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to help those in need. We feel so lucky to have him as part of our Summit School community.
